Screen Queensland is the Queensland Government-owned screen agency, dedicated to growing a successful
screen industry in the state. The agency supports locally-produced films, series and games, and secures Australian
and international production and post-production into Queensland. It also runs initiatives to build skills and
careers for local screen practitioners, and funds film festivals and industry conferences.
Supported Australian projects include Bluey, Black Snow, Boy Swallows Universe, Rock Island Mysteries, True Spirit, A League of Her Own, Limbo, Upright (Season 2), A Perfect Pairing, Strait to the Plate and Troppo. Recent international productions supported by Screen Queensland include Wizards! starring Pete Davidson and Orlando Bloom, Elvis directed by Baz Luhrmann, Thirteen Lives directed by Ron Howard, Ticket to Paradise starring Julia Roberts and George Clooney, Land of Bad starring Russell Crowe and Liam Hemsworth and the Disney+ sci-fi series Nautilus.
Opened in 2019, Screen Queensland Studios: Brisbane recently hosted Tiger King-inspired series JOE vs CAROLE, and the first season of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s autobiographical comedy series Young Rock. Screen Queensland Studios: Cairns is set for completion in 2023.
