Balloon Entertainment is an independent television production company writer run based in London and Glasgow. The company is owned by writer Bryan Elsley (Skins, The Crow Road) and as a writers’ company, our focus is on working with new and emerging talent as well as being a home for writers’ passion projects. We work a lot with artists moving into writing for television from 2 other disciplines – acting, prose, theatre – as well as those who work purely in screenwriting. Our work to date includes: Dates (Channel 4), two series of Clique (BBC, Pop), Kiss Me First (Channel 4, Netflix) and Eden (Stan, Spectrum). Last year we made Nathan Foad’s original sitcom Newark, Newark for UKTV, Harry Enfield’s comedy special The Love Box in Your Living Room and are currently finishing up post on Candice Carty-Williams’ first series Champion for BBC1 and Netflix globally.
