Biography
As VP, Alex leads the International Scripted Co-Production team at A+E. She identifies premium scripted projects for global distribution, through development and/or distribution investment with co-production partners. She joined A+E from Shaftesbury, where as VP, Creative and Co-Productions she nurtured the company's international drama slate out of London, with a focus on development and creative partnerships.
Before that, Alex was a UK network buyer. As Head of Acquisitions and Co-Productions at UKTV, she was a key contributor to the network's market-beating growth, implementing and executing highly effective acquisition and coproduction strategies and leading commercial relationships with US studios. She identified and secured high-end scripted fare that drove audience reach and channel brands; she secured multiple Broadcast Digital Award nominations for Best Acquisition including a win for Suits for Dave. She delivered distinctive first-run IP via pre-sales and co-productions with UK and international partners and was recognised as a Worldscreen
Content Trendsetter.
Prior to UKTV, she programmed Channel 4's Shooting Gallery short film strand and as Editor, Feature Films, oversaw a remit covering acquisition and scheduling across Channel 4, More4 and E4. In her early career she was a production assistant and programme executive at the BBC.
A graduate of the NFTS' prestigious Script Development Diploma programme, she has served as a BAFTA, RTS Craft and Design Award, and C21 Drama Pitch juror. Her credits include international procedural hit Murdoch Mysteries (CBC, UKTV, ITGVS), The Sounds (Acorn, Sky NZ, CBC, All3Media), Dead Still (Acorn, RTE, ZDF Enterprises), and SisterS (IFC/Sundance, RTE, Crave, Fremantle).

SCRIPTED TV

A+E is expanding its distribution slate by developing and sourcing premium scripted drama that cuts through in the global market. We’re compelled by character-led stories in commercial genres like crime drama, suspense, mystery, thriller, and psychological arenas; but with a distinct voice, POV, or fresh twist that offers subversion and surprise within a compelling narrative engine. Whether original or IP-based, our focus is returnable series with episodic or serialised narratives that inhabit grounded and recognisably contemporary worlds. One-hours are a priority although there may be opportunities for more authored half-hours. We’re keen for storytelling
that offers audiences an escape - whether it’s elevated and aspirational or simply a fun guilty pleasure – but always with the aim of resonating with the world around us.
