Biography
As Executive in Charge of Unscripted Development Yasmine works with independent producers to develop factual programming for CBC and CBC Gem. She also serves as the production executive on the primetime docu-reality series Bollywed. Prior to joining the CBC she worked within Canada’s independent production sector for 20 years, including a lead development role with factual prodco Cream Productions. Yasmine also served as a content producer for the Banff World Media Festival’s inaugural BANFF Spark Accelerator for Women in the Business of Media.

We’re looking for compelling premium documentaries, and entertaining factual and entertainment formats.
Documentary limited series: We’re looking for documentary series that feature exclusive access to a story, character, community or inner world that will reveal itself over the course of the episodes. It could leverage an existing brand (book, podcast, talent) or shed new light on an event that Canadians are infinitely curious about. In all cases, we’re seeking a story - not a broad survey of a subject, or a series of profiles. Further, you want to ensure that you’re bringing a unique entry point or focus to the storytelling.
In this space, we’re open to international co-productions when there is a natural Canadian angle embedded in the storyline, or when the story has relevance for a Canadian audience.
Factual and Entertainment: We are on the lookout for the next great idea - the rare gem that has the potential to garner audience buzz, critical acclaim and push the boundaries of what already exists on television. Specifically, entertainment formats that are ambitious, exciting & unique, and personality-driven factual entertainment series with a distinct POV.
