Biography
Before joining Federation Studios’ sales & acquisitions team in 2016, Leo Becker worked in creative development at Ubisoft Motion Pictures, conducting extensive historical and factual research for the screen adaptations of Ubisoft’s biggest game franchises (Assassin’s Creed, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, The Division, etc.) and helping maintain brand cohesiveness and accuracy across these extended universes throughout the company’s film and TV slate.

After successfully administering the international sales of Federation’s international hit series The Bureau (ranked 3rd Best international series of the decade by the New York Times), Leo moved on to overseeing the acquisition & coproduction of German, Scandinavian and English-Speaking series at Federation Studios, including Viaplay’s Partisan, which went on to win the Best Series award at the Cannes Series Festival and the Emmy nominated international hit series Bad Banks.

Now overseeing the creative development of Federation Studios’ international originals and co-productions - including a sequel to the 2021 adaptation of Around the World in 80 Days starring David Tennant and other projects from Jules Verne’s universe – Leo Becker is curating a slate of ambitious, international projects together with prestigious international producers and writers, both within and outside the group’s several subsidiaries in the UK, US, Italy, Spain, Germany & Israel.

Though generally genre-agnostic and looking more at shows with a clear and gripping high-concept or a unique, untapped arena, the genres or story-types we are more actively on the lookout for at the moment would be the following:

- Playful, Contemporary Whodunnits
- Contemporary Heist series with a topical social undercurrent
- Fun and fast-paced Action series, preferably female-led
- Sexy/Steamy thriller with a mainly female point of view
- Romcoms, especially Christmas romcoms, preferably involving at least one European character
- Four-quadrant adventure content, preferably IP-based, either series or features
- Soapy, High Concept Crime Dramas and/or Thrillers
