Biography
Cecilie Olsen heads up the non-scripted acquisitions team at ITV Studios which assesses the saleability of all in-house non-scripted output outside of the territory it was created. She also actively seeks out third party produced shows that are bold, brave, noisy returnable franchises and highly commercial. Successes include A Year On Planet Earth, River Monsters, 24 Hours In Police Custody and Murder In The Pacific.

At Screen Forever, Gold Coast, Cecilie is looking for properties which span the natural history, history, true crime, manufacturing/engineering, adventure, home renovations, border control, luxury and one-off documentary space. She is also open to hearing about ideas at concept stage as well as those which are part commissioned and would benefit from deficit financing.

ITV Studios likes to work with a wide variety of Australian producers and it counts among its Australian portfolio Northern Pictures' Barrier Reef and The Magical Land of Oz.

UNSCRIPTED TV

Natural History: on most of our buyers agenda;

True crime: there's a strong appetite for crime that is binge-worthy, for series with a different angle or hook that feels high quality, or that focuses on a high profile case;

One off documentaries: high-end stories in sports, music, crime - but the subject matter should be known worldwide such as Framing Britney Spears;

Wonders of manufacturing and/or engineering: we have seen a continued uptake on our older series in this space, so an absolute need for more;

History: When told in a new and inspiring way, possibly with new evidence or findings, history as a genre becomes popular again. Egypt or WW2 related is still popular;

Adventure shows: the format Alone continues to travel, and broadcasters are looking for series where humans are being pushed to the limit;

Luxury Space; be it hotels (Claridges), homes or places (Inside Monaco/Dubai) or brands;

Uplifting/Feel Good/Makeover shows and home renovations: trends that is always relatable to people and have ongoing popularity (shows such as Repair Shop, Sewing Bee for example);

Male skewed border control shows;
