Biography
A+E International is seeking scripted coproduction opportunities to flow into its distribution pipeline. We can engage at any stage, from funding early development to providing distribution MG’s to close financing. We aim to align with A+E’s significant legacy in the non-scripted arena – from high-volume hit franchises to premium documentaries – through scripted projects which reflect that archive’s purpose-led values, delivering an emotional heart and reflecting the world around us.

Our priority is elevated, character-led English-language dramas (ideally returnable) that will cut through with global audiences. We love commercial narratives like crime, mystery, thriller, psychological drama and true crime which exceed the conventions of their genres. What is that new perspective or lead character which subverts a familiar premise or a hitherto unforeseen setting? What is the playful genre hybrid that takes an audience on a surprising or unexpected journey?

We’re not looking for hard-core genre (sci-fi/supernatural), period, or straight comedy; we will consider comedy-drama provided its stakes are inherently dramatic. We’re not afraid of shows that take audiences on a journey into darker places, but ultimately they should resolve in a hopeful or optimistic way.
What we're looking for from Ready, Steady, Pitch!

SCRIPTED TV

A+E is expanding its distribution slate by developing and sourcing premium scripted drama that cuts through in the global market. We’re compelled by character-led stories in commercial genres like crime drama, suspense, mystery, thriller, and psychological arenas; but with a distinct voice, POV, or fresh twist that offers subversion and surprise within a compelling narrative engine. Whether original or IP-based, our focus is returnable series with episodic or serialised narratives that inhabit grounded and recognisably contemporary worlds. One-hours are a priority although there may be opportunities for more authored half-hours. We’re keen for storytelling that offers audiences an escape - whether it’s elevated and aspirational or simply a fun guilty pleasure – but always with the aim of resonating with the world around us.
