In 2021 it looked like the world was turned upside down and that the industry as a whole would need to find new ways to succeed in a vastly changed regulatory and funding environment. Between then and now we’ve seen key elements of the Government’s reform agenda rise and fall, and we are faced with a vastly different landscape than the one we discussed just over a year ago. Changes have been made to some regulation but other planned changes to the Producer Offset never came to pass, and a whole new framework for Australian content on streaming services is on the table. The panel will offer a refreshed take on the brave new world for the sector and where the opportunities and upsides are in the new environment.
