Fran Kelly is one of Australia's leading political interviewers and commentators. She has earned a reputation as an intelligent, informed and balanced journalist who has been a key contributor to the nation's political and social debates for almost two decades.
Fran hosted ABC Radio National’s Breakfast programme for 17 years from 2005 until she hung up her microphone in December 2021. RN Breakfast is Australia's agenda-setting national morning current affairs radio show. Its daily agenda is a mix of national and international politics, social issues and the arts.
In 2021 Fran hosted her own TV chat show, Frankly, which brought together thinkers, adventurers, entertainers, musicians and change makers to broaden our minds and make us laugh and feel good on a Friday night.
She is also co-host of the ABC Political podcast, The Party Room.
SCREEN FOREVER is proudly supported by the Queensland Government, through Screen Queensland.
Screen Producers Australia respectfully acknowledges the people of the Yugambeh language region, the traditional owners of the lands on which we met. We thank the traditional custodians for welcoming us all onto their lands.
We acknowledge and pay respects to them and all their descendants both past and present. We also acknowledge the many Aboriginal people from other regions as well as Torres Strait and South Sea Islander people who now live in the local area and have made an important contribution to the community.
